I just beat Xenoblade Chronicles. It is a fantastic game that deserves all the attention it can get. Especially, in this current generation with lackluster JRPGs. It’s beautiful, well-written and captivating to the end. It goes down as one of my favourite games ever.
It has a similar feel to FFXII. Which is great, because I loved that game. The battle system, story, and environments remind me of it. But it feels like Xenoblade did it right.
The game cuts out a lot of the bullshit of other JRPGs. Quicktravel is locations is a big thing. You can explore more, but you can always go back instantly to already discovered landmarks. I hate useless walking, so this is wonderful. Also, some fetch quests don’t need you to return the items to the requestee. As soon as you grab the items or kill the baddies, a screen pops up that says you completed the quest and gives the result of it and the reward.
English VAs are awesome. Usually, I switch to JP voices as soon as possible, but they were great and create a wonderful experience. I thought they fit the characters well. In cutscenes, you can just sit back, relax and watch it.

The battle system seemed weird and slow at first, but it gets better as you have more options later in the game (more characters and more arts).

Graphics are ‘meh’. But you get used to it. Still, they have created absolutely gigantic worlds that are beautiful. It blows my mind that they were able to do this on the wii.

The only thing that bothered me is the loading. It actually loads fast(!), but it loads a lot. And it is just nonstop sounds from the disk reading (which for the wii is loud as fuck!). This is not a problem about the game, but more of the hardware. I think easiest solution would be if there was an install option, which the wii obviously does not do ;_;.

Nothing really else to say, it’s just all fantastic. Please, if you have a Wii, do yourself a favour and pick this game up.
Just buy it. It will be good for you.
Also, why isn’t there more fan art of this game…

Well, damn. That’s how you design a figure! Good Smile Company has Inori Yuzuriha for pre-order.

I love Inori, but why were you stuck in such an awful anime? ;_;
Anywho, Good Smile Company has a new nendoroid up. There is also a poseable figure of her available.

Children of the battlefield! Let there be love!

Oh God! So close. So very, very close.

Beat Tales of Graces f just in time. Now time to untangle my Wii and get Xenoblade Chronicles. That should hold me off until The Last Story.

Tales of Graces f is fantastic. Wrapping up the future arc and I felt it was very complete overall. The characters developed nicely throughout the game and I got attached to them. Sophie is adorable, Pascal is hilarious, and Cherie is an angel.
My main gripe is the lack of JP voices. But, I got used to the English dub and it was fine.
I think it’s quite an improvement over past Tales games. I’ve played mostly on auto because I didn’t want to grind. The AI isn’t perfect but it seems better than other games (I remember it being so very awful in Abyss). The title system was pretty cool, too. You got skills from titles and I preferred that much more than getting them from weapons like in Vesperia.
120 hours in and beat the main arc + future arc. All that is left is the extra dungeon Zhonecage and some colliseum battles. Overall, great game. Definitely worth checking out for Tales fans and newcomers alike. It has me looking forward to Tales of Xillia and seeing what they got in store for me there.

Going to Osheaga 2012 in August! I am so excited to visit Montreal again this summer. Metric, The Black Keys, Florence and The Machine, City and Colour, Snoop Dog, Justice, MGMT, Madeon, and many others. This lineup is looking good!

God damn, MLG Winter Championship was good! MarineKingPrime wins it and this time has a crowd to cheer him on. Oh MKP, you so cute. <3

Awawawawawawa

Yup, I could watch this forever.

Listen and be happy :D

Persona 4: The Golden may be the only reason I would get a vita.

Capcom, I used to love you, but you are looking pretty scummy these days. With all the great games out there, I can continue to skip on Capcom (and EA as well).
