Tool upgrade! Tonight, I will be trying out the Sujiborido BMC Chisels. I bought a whole set of them (.2mm, .4, .6., .8, 1.0, 1.2, 2.0, 3.0). Expensive, but much better than what I was using before.

Animal Crossing for the 3DS is dropping soon! Oh, I can’t wait to play in a town full of furries!
In the meantime, got back to playing Ni No Kuni. That game really knows how to piss me off. Bad camera angles, slow walking everywhere, surprise boss fights, terrible AI… god damn, the mechanics feels just too traditional/dated that it hampers my immersion. I really like the VAs and the artstyle. I hope Level 5’s next game that they smarten up and fine-tune their mechanics.

Also, The Last of Us is out soon as well. I’m pretty stoked for that. I haven’t bought a PS3 game or Western game in a while. It’s looking mighty fine.

I got 100% on EOIV a few weeks back. And I still log on to play. God damn that game is good.I’m really stoked for Shin Etrian Odyssey: Millenium Girl. It has a fixed characters, voice acting and more focus on story. However, did you hear that there was a classic mode (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=541626)? The classic mode let’s you play with your custom parties. Pretty fuckin’ rad. It looks like it could attract newcomers and old fans alike. Atlus is just making everyone happy.I assume that fixed characters are going to increase marketability. Perhaps we will see an anime in the future, like a few of Atlus’ other series.
But… I wonder how it will take to come over. The gap between JP to NA for EOIV was about seven months. And that game only had text. I’ll wait patiently though. To cheer up: Shin Megami Tensei IV is coming for NA on July 16 with a very rad special edition. Very excited for this year.

Come on, Alter, announce this figure on your site already. You are really letting me down with all these mediocre figures. The latest announcements have only been so-so with lackluster poses. These were already showcased at WonderFest, so I knew those boring things were coming. Now, get that out of the way and bring us some cool shit.

I’m close to wrapping up EOIV. I’m around 95% completion for monster and item compendium, so I’m happy with that. The only thing left that I want to do is defeat the Fallen One.I might be going back to EOIII and finish off my playthrough. I stopped playing because that game got really hard. I expect a lot of tears on my return.

I finally finished Fire Emblem: Awakening on Lunatic. God damn… that was so hard that it wasn’t even fun.

The game is great though. The amount of content is so extensive. I love all the little character stories.

I would recommend the Hard playthrough. It gives a challenge without as much tears. For Lunatic, you have to grind your ass off and only your most powerful can be fielded. This usually meant no healers hahah. Nowi and Nah (just about as unkillable as it gets) hauled my ass through the game. These are serious tanks.

I might do a Lunatic+ playthrough next. Or might jump back on my hard/casual playthrough just to get all the children.

A perfect picture to find as this is my front row!

I’ve finished Etrian Odyssey IV some time ago. It was a fantastic game and I have nothing but love for it. I’ve started the postgame maze and it is challenging.
I used a very vanilla party composition (support, tank, dps, elemental, healer). I wanted to try the other classes out but this just worked out really well for me. Here’s the team I’ve used from start to finish:
Front:Landsknecht/Runemaster: Maxed links and increased elemental damage.  Little to “okay” mana pool.Fortress/Landsknecht: Party Guard. Small TP pool, but recovers quickly from class passive.Back:Sniper/Imperial: Just straight power with Squall Volley. Requires Target Goggles equipped because  squall volley’s poor accuracy. Very little TP pool. Out of battle, you use it for Camouflage. Regular battles, it just auto-attacks.Medic/Runemaster: Party Heal, Full Heal and the automatic-heal/revive. On the Runemaster side, all the passives along with Rune buffs. Big TP pool.Runemaster/Imperial: Straight up elemental damage. Too much TP for it’s own good! It is your consistent damage dealer.
I would rather have my Sniper as a Nightseeker sub for the accuracy passive, but I don’t want my Sniper going first. It must always go after the Landsknecht in order to take advantage of the links. So use gear to speed up your L and to slow down your S. Whenever my Landsknect is consistently faster, I’ll switch the sub on my Sniper.First turn:(L) Improved Link, (F) Rampart or Party Guard, (S) Lock on or Spotter, (M) Rune Buff, (R) Runic Gleam
The medic buffs your party and debuffs the enemies resistances. This makes your element damage in the next turn very effective. Ie. Medic does Fire Rune, so the next turn the Landsknecht does Blazing Link +  Runemaster does Fireball.
Second Turn:(L) Blazing/Freezing/Electric Link, (F) Party Guard forever, (S) Squall Volley, (M) Party Heal or Full Heal on Fortress, (R) Whatever kickass rune spell you have. There is a bit of RNG in this build, but once it works, it is amazing haha. The Landsknecht and Sniper synergize well together. Each hit of squall volley can a trigger a link! It racks up damage very quickly. Then after all the links, your Runemaster goes and blasts the hell out of the enemies. This build is amazing against 1 enemy. So it works well against FOEs and bosses. And it’s absolutely terrible if you are facing a mob as the squall volley shots spread out. Usually, it will be up to your Runemaster to kill groups since he/she has so much mana.
Now, it’s time for me to try out the other classes as I play through post-game. I really like the Bushi, so I’m going to give that a try.

I’m at the last boss of EOIV. The game is fantastic. I’m somewhere between 60-70 hours played. The game is much easier and enjoyable than its predecessors. And this ease allows for a greater flexibility of builds. You don’t need to be completely efficient or overleveled, and you can still make your way through.

It’s enjoyable and I don’t want it to end. As I wrap up, I’ll do a quick a write-up of my team (which is your vanilla dungeon team)

Something that feels off… Landsknechts are cool, but I miss my Princess as support.

About:

I post as if I am just talking to myself. Usually it is just stuff that I like and want to remember.

The rundown: Videogames, anime, and stuff I buy. I will usually link to where ever I found it so I can help others buy useless shit as well.

Current phase: Gundam kits. I wanna make a bunch.

Following:
